Mayor Funkhouser and Wife Gloria Squitiro Sued Again
We ran out of money before we could remove the snow from the streets and get our children back to school. Now, Mayor Mark Funkhouser and his wife Gloria Squitiro may run the city into further debt as they face another lawsuit. Remember that last year Mark Funkhouser and Gloria Squitiro cost the city over half a million dollars due to illegal behavior directed toward a former office employee in the Mayor’s Office.
The saying that comes to mind is “once burned, twice shy.” This, however, does not seem to mean a thing in City Hall these days, at least not to Mayor Mark Funkhouser or his wife Gloria Squitiro. The second lawsuit is related to the case that has already cost us $550,000!
As you read here recently, I spent the first day of the new decade in the jury pool process. That blog post entitled “Jury Duty Turns Ho-Ho-Ho to Woe-Woe-Woe” lightly examined the jury pool process and how remarkably pitiful the jury pool participants are compensated. That it even cost the participants to serve. Check it out.
My point is that I would have to get myself out of the jury that would have to endure this latest lawsuit against Mark Funkhouser and his wife Gloria Squitiro because enough is enough and I would be inclined to convict. After all, this case is related to one they have already lost and I do believe in the relationship between smoke and fire.
If logic follows, then you would have to believe that everyone that expressed concern about former President Bill Clinton’s role if his wife Hillary had won the election (not to mention her pick as Secretary of State) should have the same level of passion about our hometown and its dynamic duo of Mark Funkhouser and Gloria Squitiro.
I cannot predict the outcome of a case just recently filed but for the city and its business community it does present us with more bad PR as well as the exposure to more tax dollars being drained away from the needs of the city.
This is to Mayor Mark Funkhouser, take the heat at home and tell your wife Gloria Squitiro that the Office of Mayor belongs to the city and that he is just a temporary custodian. It would be best if she stayed away from City Hall and the Mayor’s Office. I can’t see where she has added a half million dollars value to the city and we can’t afford to take that half million any higher.
Ask yourself, would you keep someone in your office that has caused such a massive drain on your bottom line? Let us hear from you, I’m sure we are interested in your take on the Mark Funkhouser and Gloria Squitiro liability issues.
