Your mental attitude is vital to your well being and performance whether it be personal or professional performance.

Staying continually motivated is for many people extremely difficult. It is only human nature, at times, to procrastinate, to become a bit lazy or complacent. That is why it is important to network and find people who are extremely positive and supportive. Seek to find people who are willing to reciprocate and collaborate with you. I call this finding "Mental Vitamins".

Likewise, it is important for you to be a mental vitamin to the members of your network. It should make you feel good to make others feel good. Making others feel good can take many forms. It can consist of mentally picking them up when they are down. It can include giving them referrals and sharing important information. It may also include introducing them to people in your network that can be of assistance to them or collaborating with them on a project.

I am reminded of the old phrase made popular by Zig Zigler many years ago: "If you help enough people get what they want to get out of life, you will get what you want to get." In other words: What goes around comes around.

So, if you want to stay continually self-motivated, surround yourself with people who support you and make you accountable for reaching your goals. Surround yourself with self-confident, honest, trustworthy people. Find people you admire and respect

and likewise admire and respect you.

Finally, never forget that your most important asset is your attitude. Having a continually positive attitude can cover up a number of flaws we possess as human beings.

Have you had your dose of mental vitamins today? If not,

get on the phone, Email someone, text someone, or just smile and shake a hand. As James Taylor says in the song: "You've Got A Friend."
